This may or may not be related to your problem. I was seeing this same condition here as well. The problem was that a session would become hosed if a user used the arrow keys to select a menu option, if the first command statement within the menu block was command key(some_key). The user would then close that window and send a process running along... This is a known 4gl bug; moving the command key statement lower in the menu structure fixed the problem. Occasionally we still see it if a user shuts down the window without exiting properly, but I just have a cron job set to run periodically to alert me to the problem and I simply kill it. Your problem may not be related to the menu/arrow problem, but I bet you've got users that are not shutting down their sessions properly.
