Restore backup from previous versions on vs 11.5

Hi everyone, anyone knows is there any workaround to restore a backup using
ontape or onbar from vs 10.CF9 on a instance using 11.50.CF6?? without using
reinstalling or using the version 10 binary??
We got the error (-43052) Error parsing bootfile when using onbar, An IBM page
said informix cant restore from version 10, but i want to spend all ways to
achieve this.
We are using AIX 5.3.
Thanks a lot in advanced.
On archive is capable of extracting the data from an archive of any release
and inserting the data into new or existing tables/databases in a server.
Unfortunately, since you are using onbar, you will need the version 10 onbar
to read the archive out of whatever storage manager it's stored in and pipe
the output to onarchive. The 11.50 onbar will refuse to read the archive.
So, while you can avoid having to restore the archive to a new version 10.00
server somewhere by using onarchive to restore the data to the 11.50
instance, you will still need to have an installed version 10 onbar
executable and its libraries in order to read the archive.

Hi Art, Thanks you so much for your answer , but im still so confused. You
said onarchive can restore the backup?? I was researching about the utility
but i found it was used before onbar and i didnt find anything about it in the
documentation.
What whould be the steps to restore the backup from ids 10 on ids 11.5 using
onarchive??
Also, how would i do to restore the backup using ontape?? because using ontape
with testing database, informix 11.5 shows me the following error on the

When i restore the same backup using ids 10.fc9 i dont get this error. Also i
check out my dbspaces, and they have enough space more than 100MB per dbspace
and just one database.
So SORRY! I was having a senior moment. That entire discussion should
substitute "archecker" for "onarchive" everywhere. YUCK.
Again, you should not be trying to restore an archive from an earlier
release using the current release's ontape or onbar! It is just not
supported! You should have taken an archive immediately after upgrading
from 10.00 to 11.50 so you can restore from that in an emergency. If you
regularly restore from older archives to replace missing data someone has
fumble fingered away, you should start to use archecker for that also. It
does not require restoring to a separate instance and then copying the data
to the current instance, it can read the archive and insert the rows
directly into the target table or into a staging table for refiltering
later.

LOL, Thank you so much Art for clearing my doubts about this. Bye.
