Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Hi netters,
We store BLOBS which often are ascii text. Many of these ascii data has
spaces etc. and the data is big. Such data is loaded/retrieved from our C
programs and so we are thinking of storing such data in compressed form
and do uncompression when retreiving.
Are there any C routines for Informix available for this Or at least
algorithms. Main concern would be that the routine conform to INformix
data format(if any ??) and that is why we don't want to use UNIX
compress/uncompress tools.
ANy pointers ?
Please reply directly if you could.
Thanks very much
