} My english is poor, but I'm going to explain you what I want:
}
} First the system has 80 users , all of them work all the day, at the end of the
} day I execute a program that updates a lot of rows ( that's why I commit 'n'
} times in the program ) and at this moment no users can be working ( only users
} of my system )
}
} So, the question is How can I lock these tables during all the program ?
}
} In Manuals I've only found three ways to do it ?
}
} 1.- LOCK TABLE "table" IN EXCLUSIVE MODE
}
} It only works during a transaction,If I commit the transaction,I loose the LOCK.
}
} 2.- LOCK DATABASE "database"
}
} I can't lock the database because there are several users of other systems
} working.
}
} 3.- Using Priviliges
}
} If I use GRANT and REVOKE, the problem is that I must know each user's profile
} in order to GRANT their priviliges.
} So REVOKE is easy , but GRANT the priviliges to each user ?
}
}
} THAN YOU FOR YOUR ANSWER
