Why does fgl_drawbox() draw a box made out of "x"s, "q"s, etc?

My 4GL program uses fgl_drawbox to draw some boxes on the screen. On my HP workstation with TERM = hp they comes out fine +--------------------------+ | and look like this | +--------------------------+ My user runs the same application from his PC: he telnets to a unix box, sets TERM = vt100 then runs the application lqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqk x and his boxes look like this x mqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqj Not unreasonably, he doesn't like this all that much. I suspect that I am into the merry realm of TERMCAP, TERMINFO and other fun things about which I am woefully uninformed. Can anyone give me a pointer towards that sort of things I need to be looking at to have his screen display properly? Thanks... - Paul (not a spokesman)
