You will be suprised that it has a sorely neede load() and unload() function that deals with duplicates and file compression. We have an interface based on an extension to the isqlperl module also ported to JAVA. A middleware connection manager runs on a Unix box and talks to the 7.X engine. JAVA applets or applications can talk to the database with only a 9K byte class file upload. This works in ALL JDK1.02 and JDK1.1 browsers without the overhead of JDBC. In addition to JAVA the system supports perl5. The package performs great and packs a lot of punch for just about any Web enabled database application you can imagine. The toolkit and source are availible for $25K US for unlimited internal use. The function library (perl5 - JAVA is the same) is as follows (javadoc is available at http://quark.quantumsi.com/java/docs/:) - Jon NAME ISQL.pm - Perl5 dynamic interface to Informix Databases, Copyright 1996,1997 Quantum Systems Integrators, Inc. all rights reserved.
