dbspace destroyed

Hi!
On one machine dbspace was destroyed by unwary sysadmin who
repartiioned disk with informix chunks on it (raw devices).
Now, informix can be started (it complains about missing chunks
though).
What is the procedure for removing staled information for chunks? I
should remove one whole dbspace.
# onspaces -d dbspace2
hangs during execution. Same thing happens when I try to remove
dbspace2 with onmonitor.
Thanks for your time.

Unfortunately you can't remove the chunks that Informix complains are
missing, because Informix wants to access them to remove them :-(
If you have a current tech support contract, Informix may be able to patch
the chunks so you can drop them. They won't entrust this tool to users, or
even partners, though.
Alternatively, export your databases, rebuild the server from scratch then
reimport.
Finally, can you restore your database server from archive then roll forward
intervening logical logs up to the point of failure?
