Bug in AVG under GROUP BY - gives INCORRECT RESULTS - v7.xx

Informix has just confirmed that under some circumstances the AVG function combined with a GROUP BY clause gives incorrect results. I have seen this with NULLs treated as zeros. The problem apparently affects all 7.xx versions of SE an Online, including the latest ones. It may be connected with hash joins. I thought those of you without support contracts (we bought one specifically to sort this problem out) would appreciate being warned about this problem. Manufacturers of products other than software recall faulty products and replace them. We have to pay for correction of manufacturing defects. How many people actually check the results the database gives? I discovered it because another check in another system failed unusually frequently.
