Open your eyes. This guy is hyping a crisis on order to sell tickets to his "conference". Look at all the newsgroups he has cross-posted to: comp.databases, comp.databases.gupta, comp.databases.ibm-db2, comp.databases.informix, comp.databases.ingres, comp.databases.ms-access, comp.databases.ms-sqlserver, comp.databases.object, comp.databases.olap, comp.databases.oracle, comp.databases.progress, comp.databases.sybase, comp.databases.theory Last time I looked, this was called "spamming" for commercial purposes. People who do that deserve nothing better than utter contempt. This is also not the first time he has done so. TICKET SALES GETTING A LITTLE SLOW? P.S. Most of these databases were not used on your PDP-11 twenty years ago, so the item is still irrelevant.
