RE: Resident Memory larger then expected

Hello Superboer,
good hint! I changed LOCKS from 4,000,000 to 10,000 and now only 49152 KB
for the resident portion were allocated. What happens if the server
allocates more locks in 1,000,000 portions as I have seen before and memory
is limited to e.g. 1024000 KB (SHMTOTAL)?
Regards,
Reinhard.

Hello Reinhard.
When the engine allocates dynamicly locks it will be in virtual
portion...
hmm i would not go for that and i would not easyly gofor limiting
shmtotal.
if you hit shmtotal you may see a crash or?? see also Arts comments,
he has more experience with versions > 9.
