As I know. It is not possible to set or not set an AutoCommit mode in SQL. You can use an ANSI database, then you must use COMMIT or ROLLBACK statements for every transactions. If you use a 'normal' database with log, then you have something like an autocommit mode exept you use BEGIN WORK and COMMIT WORK. A good JDBC driver will emulate the AutoCommit function. For performance reasons it is better to switch the autocommit mode off generally in databases with log or ANSI databases. Regards Martin
