Re: SQL Server vs INFORMIX

Come on, Tim, a *pro* like you shouldn't make such ridiculous tests. Doing inserts/updates doesn't happen very often comapred to normal selects in a *real life* environment. And on the other hand P166 and 32 MByte RAM in an ISA-PC may be enough hardware for NT 4.0 workstation (starter kit ;-) but not for NT 4.0 server with SQL-Server on it. Maybe, you are also using an old ST4096 MFM-harddisk B-) In this environment NT is doing more swapping then *real* db-work. What a ridiculous test. cu Reiner Tim Schaefer <tschaefe@mindspring.com> schrieb im Beitrag <343693AF.C28FEC87@mindspring.com>... > I've tested both, side by side, used MS C++ for a transaction testing > program, to do high-volume inserts, updates.
