Try :
oncheck -pe
oncheck -cc

Hmmm. These are my databases:
sysuser
systest
sysspin
syscell
cell
central
onpload
At the moment the central on onpload database are getting the errors.
oncheck -pe proves the error:
[informix@cupid ~]$ oncheck -pe | grep sysdirectives
sysmaster:'informix'.sysdirectives 11717 8
sysutils:'informix'.sysdirectives 12613 8
sysuser:'informix'.sysdirectives 13053 8
systest:'informix'.sysdirectives 26282 8
sysspin:'informix'.sysdirectives 41462 8
syscell:'informix'.sysdirectives 75168 8
cell:'informix'.sysdirectives 149986 8
And:
[informix@cupid ~]$ oncheck -cc central
Validating database central
Validating systables for database central
ISAM error: TBLspace does not exist
And:
[informix@cupid ~]$ oncheck -cd central
{all the other systables}
TBLspace data check for central:informix.sysdirectives
Error opening TBLspace sysdirectives.
