Performance tuning tips for NT

We're testing OWS for NT (version 7.12TC3 I think) to see if we might like to move some data over to Informix. Everything looks good so far, but it seems that the result sets (even for simple selects with no where clause) are taking way too much time to get back to the client (~5 rows/sec on a 477 record table with 128 byte records with a select * from tablename). Can someone point me towards a place in the documentation that discusses this problem (or even better, does someone have a fix)? Many thanks, -Mike
