You didn't say what type of Linux you running, but I know that Veritas
NetBackup 4.5 and 5.0, and Oracle 9i both run on Redhat Advanced
Server 2.1. Just make sure that your corresponding tape drives are
also supported, and I don't see a problem backing-up straight to tape.
RMAN is much more difficult to use than onbar. NetBackup has a GUI
interface to help you backup your Oracle instance.
I can't believe that Legato doesn't also have a Linux offering, since
I've seen it run on some odd platforms.
