Hello all,
IDS 11.10.FC2W4 on Solaris 10
On Host 1 instance 1
dbaccess test - query language - New
select col1,col2 from tab1;
select col1, col2 from tab2 where col1 < 3;
select count(*) from tab2;
I get the output on the screen displayed as
col1 col2
1 19,00
col1 col2
0 Undo
1 Kee-Start
2 Hamilton
(count(*))
3
1 row(s) retrieved.
Now i have a Host2(solaris 10)which is installed with IDS 11.10.UC2 (engine is
not online)and the sqlhosts is pointing to Host1 - instance 1. so when i do
"dbaccess test" on Host 2 i get connected to Host1 instance 1.
On Host 2
dbaccess test - query language - New
select col1,col2 from tab1;
select col1, col2 from tab2 where col1 < 3;
select count(*) from tab2;
I can see the initiall output flashes and on sceen i get the o/p displayed as
(count(*))
3
1 Kee-Start
2 Hamilton
I checked the env for DBEDIT,DB_LOCALE,ISQL,TERM etc having same values in
both the servers.
Is this behaviour due to distributed env or am i missing some configuration.
Pls guide me what parameter or settings do i have to check in order to get the
same manner of output displayed as on the HOST1, any manual to refer would be
helpfull.
Regards
Try the following on both servers:
dbaccess test - <<EOF
select col1,col2 from tab1;
select col1, col2 from tab2 where col1 < 3;
select count(*) from tab2;EOF
The output should be the same from both. The way you were running dbaccess,
using hte menu system, is not intended for scripting. The commandline
interface used above is for that purpose. The output differences are
probably differences in the interactive display code.

Hi Vikas
Nice catch!
This is a known bug which has been fixed in 11.10.xC2W1. (idsdb00150232)
Please use a dbaccess from higher family.
