HELP !!!!! Informix CLI (SETNET) configuration error

HI folks ! I am trying to cofigure Informix CLI 2.5, using setnet and keep getting an error - 908 (attempt to connect to database server error). I know this is a very common error, but I have already checked for the obvious errors, repeatedly without success. I checked the database server name & made an identical entry in Setnet. I checked the database service name & made an identical entry in the windows NT, services file the same port number as in the unix box. I am logging in as INformix, I specified the correct unix host name in setnet. I double checked with the sqlhosts file in $INFORMIX$/etc/ & evrything sems to be in order. So what have I missed ?
