lock history, long lock detection and reporting

IDS 9.4FC6/ AIX 5.3 ML01 Most applications on the system are set to LOCK MODE WAIT 15 Apps affected were 4gl, perl/DBD:Informix The lock was held on a busy table that is accessed frequently by most of the applications. When the 4gl programs died, they pointed to the problem table. What I'm looking for is a way to periodically read a list of locks and complain bitterly if I find a lock that's been held over my acceptable threshold.
