Informix JAPI : Can't find class
Hi People ! I have troubles to run Java Object Interface (DevSDK 9.12 distribution) example csql.html with Netscape Communicator 4.03 browser. Applet after loading can't load ExampleApplet class with exeption: # Applet exception: error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: ExampleApplet java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: ExampleApplet at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java) at netscape.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadClass(AppletClassLoader.java) at netscape.applet.AppletClassLoader.findClass(AppletClassLoader.java) at netscape.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadClass1(AppletClassLoader.java) * at netscape.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadClass(AppletClassLoader.java) at netscape.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadClass(AppletClassLoader.java) at netscape.applet.DerivedAppletFrame.run(DerivedAppletFrame.java) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java) But ExampleApplet.class resides in the same dir, as csql.html and csql.class. CODEBASE parameter is not specified in example, but with it problem also present. In Release Notes for Informix Java API 1.4 (30 Jul 1997) there is paragraph: RUNNING THE EXAMPLES WITH RMI To run the examples with RMI, copy the *.html and *.class files in the doc/examples directory to the root of the Informix Java API release tree. The examples have to be at the root level; otherwise, dynamic stub loading will not work. Use the appletviewer or HotJava browser to run the examples. What does it mean ? I think if my DevSDK installation in /disk1/informix/devsdk/ and Java API resides in /disk1/informix/devsdk/lib/java/ All *.class and *.html files from /disk1/informix/devsdk/lib/java/doc/examples/ must be copied into /disk1/informix/devsdk/lib/java/ Is it wright ? What does mean "readme" file in my /disk1/informix/devsdk/lib/java/ Note that RMI server facility does not work with any currently released version of Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer. Which releases ? One fine thing: * with JDK 1.1.4 appletviewer its works fine; * with Internet Explorer applet starts (and can find classes), but there is problem with fonts (I have English IE 4.0 and W95 Russian ).
