Not sure... but doesn't informix need to ensure the whole instance is consistent? Therefore it'll need to recover all dbspaces to the same point-in-time. Is "time1" in the past? That may not work. After the physical resotore, can you apply logical recovery to just those dbspaces without a time in the past? e.g. something like: onbar -r -l rootdbs ste_dbs Or do you not want all those dbspaces restored at all? You only want an instance with root and ste_dbs? In that case, I wonder if you need to modify the ixbar.N and/or oncfg_<instance>.N files (in $INFORMIXDIR/etc) so it "forgets" about those dbspaces.
