[snip] : > I can pass the file name into the .arc with no problem (using the param[] : > stuff), but cannot get ACE to use it as an output file... [snip] : don't use the ace output option to do this. make the ace report write to : stdout and then wrap the whole report in a shell, something like: [snip] If you want to ouput to more than 1 file: You can begin the print lines begining w/a filename and a field seperator and pipe it through a program that strips the filename from each line and outputs to this file the rest of the line. SAMPLE OUTPUT ============= filename1| Here is some text for file 1. filename1| Here is some more text for file 1. filename2| Here is some text for file 2. filename1| Here is some more text for file 1. filename2| Here is some text for file 2. The program would strip the filename from the begining of the line and output to the files like: filename1 ========= Here is some text for file 1. Here is some more text for file 1. Here is some more text for file 1. filename2 ========= Here is some text for file 2. Here is some text for file 2. You really have to be careful with formatting if your report uses things like skip to top of page, where the blank lines outputed might go into the bit bucket. Hope it helps... -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Patrick S.
