secleanup not working
Posted in 2006

I'm attempting to run secleanup to remove dead sqlexec sessions.
when I run the command as root i get the error (se below).
my informix environment is configured and $INFORMIXDIR/bin is in my
path.
The only caveat might be that i'm running 7.25.UC1 of standard-engine.
what am I doing wrong?
Thx.
arcdev1:/tmp# ./secleanup

There was an error in opening the process database.
This utility must be run by the super user.
Verify that the INFORMIXDIR is set correctly.

arcdev1:/tmp# set | grep INF;
INFORMIXDIR=/usr/informix

Inneresting :
1. $INFORMIXDIR/bin is /usr/informix/bin
yet you issue from /tmp
./secleanup
What secleanup is in the /tmp directory??
2. You state "...i'm running 7.25.UC1"
yet the output states
"INFORMIX-SQL Version 7.25.UC3"
which is it I wonder?
3. You have not shown the ouput from "id" or "whoami"
Are you root? Really?
4. You have not stated what O/S this is.
Oh well ...
i'm running informix-se on linux UC1.
secleanup version stated UC3 because i downlaoded/extracted it
from iiug.org which had the lastest version.
i did run it as root. (that's why the username isn't displayed).
i copied secleanup to /usr/informix/bin and got the same error.
here's the output again. everything works but secleanup.
thx,

What are the owner, group, and permissions on the new secleanup? Are they
identical to those for the original one?
