Bug is with shared memory configuration (onipcshm). TCP is absolutely fine. FYI I append the Informix Defect Report - and the problem is not specific to AIX, we had the same on HP-UX. (You can search defect reports at http://www.informix.com/ - it's a good place to look for problems and solutions !) ============================ Description of Product Defect #39888 Product:ONLINE Reported:06/13/1995 USING THE RELAY MODULE WITH SHARED MEMORY CONNECTION EATS UP CPU CYCLES Verified in - Fixed in - Platform 7.10.UC1- UNIX Using 5.02.uc6 esql/c to connect to 6.x or 7.x engine, you must use the relay module, when doing this on an aix 3.2.5 box and using a shared memory connection, the cpu cycles continuously increases Workaround: use a local loopback instead of shared memory connection CAUTION: Workarounds are not guaranteed to work in every configuration.
