FREEing the cursor, etc

I saw a message out here somewhere concerning upgrading Informix, particularly 4GL, where it showed differences between older and newer versions. One of the differences was quite clear when we converted (returning the correct number of parameters) The other recommendation was not so clear (Freeing the cursor / prepared statement). My understanding of 4GL was that the cursor / prepared statements were FREEd when the cursor was closed. Is there something I'm missing? John Carlson Informix DBA WH Smith, Inc.
