I have been testing Informix OLE DB Provider as a possible replacement for ODBC. For a reason unknown the only format that I am able to use DATEs is yyyy/mm/dd What I would need is dd.mm.yyyy The problem seems to be that OLE DB Provider does not check the locales for date format. Anybody know about a way of forcing the provider to use the specified locale or DBDATE/GL_DATE formats? Currently I use my own function to format the dates for SELECTs and UPDATEs for the provider, which is propably not a good solution in a long run Tapio
From OLE DB spec, Conversions Involving Strings (Appendix A) DBTYPE_DBDATE As specified by ISO: "yyyy-mm-dd" Leopold TRoine <tapio.roine@instru.fi> wrote in message news:ONiG3.16$lV3.21@read2.inet.fi... > I have been testing Informix OLE DB Provider as a possible replacement for > ODBC. > For a reason unknown the only format that I am able to use DATEs is > yyyy/mm/dd > > What I would need is dd.mm.yyyy > > The problem seems to be that OLE DB Provider does not check the locales for > date format. > > Anybody know about a way of forcing the provider to use the specified locale > or DBDATE/GL_DATE formats? > > Currently I use my own function to format the dates for SELECTs and UPDATEs > for the provider, which is propably not a good solution in a long run > > Tapio > >
