Year 2000 Backup Plan

The "Release Notes for Informix Dynamic Server.2000 9.20UC2" at http://www.informix.com/informix/resource/ids2000.htm contain a "Year 2000 Backup Plan". Does anyone know if the backup and restore steps in that procedure are required for IDS 7.2x/7.3x users? If so, it seems that Informix has done a poor job of notifying its users of that requirement. The IDS.2000 release notes definitely make it sound like a requirement for that release.
