Note I did it with the SE backend. Server PC ------ -- Operating System (SCO Unix) Operating System (DOS) SCO TCP/IP FTP PC/TCP (PCI and LAN Workplace for DOS did not work **) I-Net (sqlexecd) I-Net PC (Informix daemon running) Windows (waiting for connection) Q+E ODBC driver installed Excel v5.0 and Microsoft Query running This worked fine. Lots of setting up and parameters though. **The reason that PCI and LAN Workplace for DOS (the Novell TCP/IP environment) did not work is that at a horizontal level the TCP/IP stacks are exactly the same (ie between machines), but on a specific machine the TCP/IP stacks might be different (ie on a vertical level).
