Share your experiences with Dynamic 4gl (2nd try)
Posted in 1999
We have some large applications written in 4gl (about 300.000 lines of code) and now we are trying Dynamic-4gl for a while. It looks nice and I'm pretty sure that some of our users will love it. So far, the transition from r4gl to Dynamic-4gl seems rather smooth: little or no change at all to our 4gl sources has been needed. That's good but, is there any hidden bone (cost)? What are the trade offs? Have you got any experience with Dynamic 4gl? How was it? Is it the GUI the only benefit? Do you think is it worthwhile to migrate a whole application, or some part of it, to Dynamic-4gl? Or you rather see this as a risky task? Thank you very much for sharing your experience. -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --- J.Miguel Signes (msignes@san.gva.es).
