[Q] Redundant Calculations

Sometime back I posted a question regarding this. I got very few replies and none of them answerd my question authentically. I am reporsting it so any 'Guru' out there who would have missed my previous posting would answer this. Question -- Is Informix engine capable of detecting redundant calculations in a SELECT Statament.e.g. SELECT SUM(f1), SUM(f1) ----NOTE the same field twice. FROM <some_table> WHERE <some_constraint> In this case would the engine do SUM (f1) twice???? Please email me if possible.
