So that explains why my IDS-List has suddenly changed into Informix in the Garden: Performance Tuning Your Petunias. -----Original Message----- From: PETE PEREZ [mailto:pedruperez@gmail.com] Sent: Friday, December 30, 2005 3:59 PM To: ids@iiug.org Subject: IIUG SIGS discussion forums changes complete [6156] Those of you who are not away for the holidays and who were paying attention, probably noticed some unusual activity and behavior in the IIUG Special Interest Groups (SIGS) discussion forums. In fact, over the weekend and well into this week, a complete replacement of the IIUG server took place. The IIUG server powers the SIGs as well as the Informix-list mail list and CDI gateway, the IIUG web site, and various other IIUG services. The SIGS software has been completely redesigned and replaced. The main differences you'll see are support for Western European character sets, read-only access to the public (you'll still need to be an IIUG member to post messages), and some reorganization of the SIG forum topics. What you may not see but will surely appreciate are immediate posting of email postings to the web forums, and a more reliable system overall. Since this upgrade took place during the slow holiday season, very few real-world messages have been posted to the SIG forums. So won't really know how bug-free or bug-full the system is for awhile. In the meantime, if you experience problems or notice any bugs, please report them via email to forummaster@iiug.org. Thanks for your help and for your patience during the cutover.
