From INFORMIX 5 to 7 - where will the performance go?

For our new software, which has new features we have to change from INFORMIX ONLINE V5.0 to V7.1. If we add the INFORMIX V7.0 only, where will the performance go? What we have to do, for the same performance under 7.1 as under 5.0. I can not belive, that we have to install 7.1 only, for the same performance. Is it necessary to add new hardware? Please help me with your suggestions. For details see the table below.
