The report print false when this variable is defined with LOCATE IN MEMORY. With Informix 5.0 the report print correctly. The report print correctly with the version 7.12 only with a LOCATE IN FILE. BUG ??? JL: Maybe, but you've got some convincing to do first. Which product(s) are you actually using? I suspect that you're using I4GL 6.0x with a 7.12 OnLine, but you could conceivably be using NewEra. What were you using with the 5.0x OnLine? What sort of report are you printing? Is it a 1-pass or a 2-pass report? Do you have an ORDER BY clause (as opposed to ORDER EXTERNAL BY clause) in it? Despite the questions above, the change in behaviour suggests a priori a bug. But to report it to Informix, you will have to deal with all the questions above. And, if at all possible, you should produce a very simple program which replicates the problem. I'd guess it might be 15 lines in MAIN and perhaps 30 lines in the report, plus an SQL script to create a table and an unload file to populate it and an explanation of what the problem is in a README file...
