Once the /INFORMIXTMP directory has been created, simply move it to a filesystem you desire and create a link to it. Like so: mv /INFORMIXTMP /my_new_dir ln -s /my_new_dir/INFORMIXTMP /INFORMIXTMP Be careful not to lose the ownership and permissions.
