I agree with Dirk... It's a personal choice, and company business
choice...

I can't compare to linux, never did an informix install on it, but our
unix (solaris) guys do like linux (we have no production linux as far as
I know, just dev).
We were solaris 7 (64 bit), informix 7.31.FC..(64bit). (w/ onbar/veritas
netbackup)
We upgraded to solaris 9, informix 9.4 (still both 64 bit)....
Both solaris 9 and informix 9.4 run like a champ... No problems
whatsoever.
Depends on your application perhaps... Is it ported to informix on linux
in any supported combo (or is it home-grown and willing to migrate)
