Re: Assert Fail - onmode hangs

Gary, the stack trace that you have posted is good information. If that stack trace is the one causing your problem I would say that you need to look for a session running a sql statement that is probably included in the af file. Taking a look at the stack trace from the bottom to the top: ( and as far as I remember .......) 1) don't worry about: startup, sqmain, sq_cmnd, sqcmd, 2) bldstructs function: was to build internal structures before the optimizer starts working 3) sqoptim function: it is a very important function, it is part of the SQL optimizer and the main goal is to select the best query path for your query. It calls many other functions..... 4) op_opinit function: I can 't recall this one but it seems to me that it is to initialize structures. 5) opinit function: it is a function to initilize internal structures for a join or filter for a query. 6) find_opcinst function: I can't recall this one. It seems to me that you problem is a query and that there is something wrong with the optimizer. If you raise a case with IBM tech support and you give them this stack trace and the af file I think they will be able to solve your problem or at least give you a workaround. Hope this helps you, esteban.-
