About to put ON-archive into production!
Posted in 1995
Yes, after 3 months of having a production 100Gb database with no backups whatsoever, we finally think we are ready for ON-archive. We have scripts to: a) Start up the cataloger and start continuous backups on reboot or on demand b) Perform an emergency log backup on demand when logs are full, catalog, and copy that request. c) We are working with a 3rd party vendor that will also be provided jukebox support Our plan is to split the level 0's over 4 nights, doing Inc's nightly. For now we will be using onautovop for both continuous backups and the archives. Does anyone have any advice before we say ominus dominus? ************************************************************************** *************** Remember, My views [QUITE OFTEN] do not reflect those of my company... :) =====================Your mileage may vary========================= Although I do consider myself a UNIX professional, always keep in mind that a professional does not mean you're good at it, It just means you get paid for it!!! =============================================================== P.S.
