Hello I've been using the Informix 4gl RDS compiler for several years; this is my first crack at using the 4GL C compiler and I'm having some issues: 1) When I take a 4gl program of several modules and compile them with the C compiler version, they all compile to .c files fine but after that I get an error message saying: cc: `-b' must come at the start of the command line. I've tried compiling each module individually to a module and to runable and I get the same results. I've used the i4gl compiling environment and the c4gl command line with no difference. I know the -b option is the machine type and I've tried adding it to the command line in the correct place for arguments to be passed to the c compiler with c4gl with no help. 2) If I try to compile the .c files to an executable I get the following error: in file included from /usr/include/sys/localedef.h:46, from /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/powerpc-ibm-aix4.3.2.0/3.3.2/include/stdlib.h:451, from drctl_l.ec:13: /usr/include/sys/localedef31.h:195: error: conflicting types for `loc_t' /usr/informix/incl/esql/locator.h:124: error: previous declaration of `loc_t' I assume this means there are multiple declarations of loc_t in both the machine header files and the esql header files. Here is my environment: AIX 4.3.3 Inf SE 5.1 Inf 4gl 7.32 Help with either issue would be greatly appreciated.

Roughly, the errors shouldn't be seen, but -D_H_LOCALEDEF might fix the second problem, and the first needs to be investigated via "INFORMIXC=echo". -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2003.04 -- http://dbi.perl.org/
