processes sspawned by 7.1

Hi, I noticed there are a lot of processes names oninit -s spawned by the database engine on start-up. Can someone enlighten me as to why this is. I'm sorry I'm not familiar with the new engine and am just groping along. Thanks as usual, Carol -- ========================================================= Carol L.
