Hello all, We have an existing INFORMIX 4GL application connected to INFORMIX SE 7.2 UC4 database. The connectivity is based on seipcpip protocol. We now want to enable SESOCTCP protocol and create the database under this connection. Are changes required in the INFORMIX 4GL application to get connected to the database that is created under SESOCTCP protocol? Will this warrant any change in the application code or only the settings? regards Ashwin

The only change is in the sqlhosts file - unless you hardwired the server name into the I4GL source code somewhere (which would have been careless). And even then, if everyone switches, you'd be OK. It's if you need some pipe and some network connections that you have problems. What's the N in 7.2N.UC4? It should be 5. -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2003.04 -- http://dbi.perl.org/
