New IP Number for IIUG Home Site

IP Address Change for IIUG Internet Home Site The IP Address (IP Number) for the home site of the International Informix Users Group (IIUG) has changed. As of today, all sub-domain and host names within IIUG.ORG should resolve to the new IP Number 204.167.252.80. If you have been accessing the IIUG site using the appropriate domain and host names such as "www.iiug.org", then this change should be transparent to you. In case you're not familiar with the IIUG home site, it currently houses our Web pages and FTP archive. There are also Web-based and e-mail-based facilities there for joining IIUG. To access the IIUG Web site, use the URL "http://www.iiug.org/"; from any of the popular Web browsers. This site offers information about IIUG and all local and regional Informix user groups. It also provides facilities for searching and viewing most of the files in the IIUG FTP archive, including the Informix FAQ Listing maintained by Kerry Sainsbury. The IIUG Web site is an excellent complement to the Informix corporate Web site, www.informix.com. The IIUG FTP Archive is accessible via anonymous FTP to "ftp.iiug.org". The archive holds downloadable files containing software, termcap entries, technical publications, and a full archive of comp.databases.informix and informix-list. This archive is currently mirrored at ftp.mathcs.emory.edu. For those of you interested in such things, the primary and secondary name servers for IIUG.ORG will also change. The new servers will be: Primary: dns.iiug.org 204.167.252.80 Secondary: nic.near.net 192.52.71.4 noc.cerf.net 192.153.156.22 There may be a short transitional period when you have trouble reaching the system using domain names. Using the raw IP Number in place of the domain name during this time should allow you reach the system as usual. These problems should not last longer than 3-4 days. If you have any questions about this change, or have problems reaching the site that continue after the switch-over period, please let me know. If you would like more information about the International Informix Users Group, send e-mail to "info@iiug.org" or to me directly.
