Hi,
I have a script that runs on a crontab to do the dbexport of all databases.
In that shell first a put informix in Quiecent mode with onmode -uy, then put
in single user with onmode -jy, then run all the dbexports.
But sometimes there is a database that fail and get the message that is opened
by another user.
What can I do ?
Thanks in advance,
Can it be the scheduler? Try to capture some info when the error happens.
informix will be able to connect... do you have scripts running in crontab
for example?

My email works... but I don't check it frequently...

Not much you can do except onmode -z the session(s) that are still
connected and hope you haven't interrupted a critical transaction.
Count yourself lucky that you EVER have a time when there are no users
connected to the server and you can successfully dbexport your databases.
Never experienced that myself, not on a production system.
Begs the question though: Why are you dbexporting all of your databases so
frequently? Just curious.

Thanks.
I exported all the database as a secondary and a more flexible backup, my
primary backup is with onbar.
