Error when adding chunk to dbspace

We are getting an error "bad group ID" when adding a chunk to a dbspace. informix support told us to change the group ID from 60 to a number over 100. We did this (and changed the group id's of the files) but still get the same error). We also are using a symbolic link to the raw device file. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
