RE: Ontape 7.10 - Alpha box - Can Not Restore

We use DEC too (ODS 7.23 and 7.24) and we already had problems using = ontape and onarchive. For security reasons, we do a dbexport every night = after the ontape.( I can't even back-up using onarchive...) and I = suggest you continue doing your unload.(Remember how problematic is the = 64 bit DEC plataform) I think Informix should pay a little bit more attention in subjects like = restoring a database. : - ( Regards Ivan Lopes Jr. DB Solution Consultoria e Sistemas Rio de Janeiro - Brazil PS: There is a terrible bug in 7.23.fc1 that corrupts the decimal = datatypes. (all the tape has been " archeker = " after back-p and no error) ... informix eng. suggest to upgrade to 7.23 = as the ontape 7.10 might not reliable (?) ... it is not easy to upgade = because we run SAP application. Now what we do is Unload the DB every day !! for back-up . Anybody has a idea what's problem on this. (we use Dec Alpha 2100 OSF = 3.2 Informix 7.10)
