Help New User!!

hi we have recently installed informix in our office .. the problem is that after setting the dbpath and other environment variables , i was able to run the demodatabase in informix and create a new database. when i tried to run informix from another users database (after setting the same variables) i was getting error no. 461. now the thing is that after unsuccessfully tryin to get informix demodatabase to run on that person account , i tried running it on some other person's account and i could do that ..the problem is that i am able to run informix on some accounts and unable to do so on som other accts..i am able to access isql and r4gl screens on the accounts of everyone.. second question .. how do i give the grant command to other users ? i mean i did isql in the dba account. it asked me to select a database name .i ignored it and went on to query language menu and ran the command "grant connect to all" .. i got an error regarding this saying that i haven't selected a database yet. also is it possible to install the demodatabase in the dba acct.(the acct which contains the informix directories ) i tried doing it and got the message "licenced for local database only" (something similar)... We are running INFORMIX -SE 5.01 on sun os 4.1.3. the 4gl version is 4.1 and the sql version is 4.1 again.. thanks in advance for your help
