7.1 initialization error

Hi everyone, I have a client that runs 7.1 on a SCO box. When the nettype is set to a shared memory connection (onipcshm) 7.x will not initialize. However, when the nettype is tcpip (ontlitcp) everything works. Do you think this is a Informix configuration problem or a SCO kernel configuration problem or neither. Can you point me to any configuration parameters to change in either Informix or the kernel? This is according to the client of course!! Thanks in advance. Tim.
