Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Hi,
a) decide on the desired protocol and port number.
b) enter a service name for the port number in /etc/services file.
c) put the corresponding entry into the sqlhosts file
(with the new server alias name).
d) bring down the server.
e) edit the $ONCONFIG file to add the new server alias name
for DBSERVERALIASES.
f) possible add a NETTYPE parameter entry to your $ONCONFIG.
g) start the server again (just "oninit").
That should be it. You should then see the new listener and poll thread(s)
that are handling request for the new server alias name (you can check
e.g.
with "onstat -g ntu").
Regards,
Martin
