netters: i have 2 machines, h1 and h3. h1 has 1 online instance named hermes1. h3 has 2 instances, hermes3 and hermes3t. from either instance on h3, i can connect the any database on h1. but when i try to connect to the hermes3t instance at h3 from h1, i get the following message: 930: Cannot connect to database server (hermes3t).Bad file number i can connect from h1 to hermes3 with no problems. i have checked the config files for all instances and they are unique. this is probably a RTFM question, but... thanks, bob baskett
