CASE Tools is bundled in (thus nolonger a separate product as before) with Enterprise Accounting. FourGen builds its financial applications (GL, FA,AR,...etc) around FourGen CaseTools (80%) so I would not think FourGen will EVER stop supporting CASE Tools. Our company uses FourGen for two years now. FourGen is a stable product (ONLY AFTER YOU GET THE RIGHT CONFIGURATIONS and SETTINGS !). FourGen's professional support was poor (low standard of support and inexperiences in important fields such as Unix, Informix, and CASE Tools). FourGen's support is improving but still below standard (in my opinion ONLY !). Overall, FourGen is a good, clean, stable product with EXellent CASE Tools. FourGen bases its products mostly on UNIX-INFORMIX platform; what will hold the future of Unix-Informix will have the same effect on FourGen. At this moment, I think FourGen is a strong product. FourGen will be around for long time unless FourGen management HAS NOT recognized FourGen weak areas in support staffs, patching system, advertisement. -- FourGen good points o Case Tools o Financial applications are stable and easy to modify or to customize o Nice PC report applications. -- FourGen needs to improve o Regional professional support staff o Patching system (replacing UUCP with something like FTP ;-)) -- FourGen newcommer suggestions: o careful planning is a virtue o hire an experienced consultant (Unix, Informix, Case Tools, Financial System and Application background) to help with softwares, hardwares, customizations, conversions. o contact FourGen developers (NOT SALE persons -- wrong information will cause incompatibilities between Operating systems, Informix Online, and Hardware configurations).
