Does anyone know if their is a Win95 :compatible version of startsql that will work with this version of :Informix or do I have to upgrade my entire Informix environment. If I :do, will my old programs and data need to change/be converted :( ??? We are running this version of Informix successfully under Windows 95 using 4GL programs. We never got the protected mode version of startsql to run under any version of DOS, so we still use the version that puts everything within the 640 kb adress limit. If this is not an option for you I have no suggestions. There is an Informix SE version for Windows 95 (I think) but you can't run 4GL programs with it (with a possible exception of the old Windows version of 4GL, but that's hardly a product you should "upgrade" to if it is even available). The best solution if you want to run under Windows 95 is to rewrite the whole application using another database (MS Access perhaps). Another option is Windows NT and Informix OnLine Workstation (single user) or Workgroup Server (multi user). This can of course be accessed from Windows 95 based PC's.
