Ontape unattended against tape library

Hi, Hoping somebody out there may have some knowledge/experience regarding the following: I am trying to use a script that will run ontape unattended against a Sun Sparcstorage Library Ver 3.11.13. I am trying to run it from a Sun E3000 and an E4000 utilizing solaris 2.6. The script has been successfully tested on Solaris 2.5 with a standard Sun Jukebox drive and was taken from the Informix web site. My problem is that the script gets hung-up right from the start asking for a writable tape. I had hoped it was a matter of simply adding commands to the start of the script to mount and label a tape and then the script would handle the rest. But I've had no success in finding the proper syntax to do this. Eventually we will be using the Solstice Backup Module for Informix to handle this function, but until then I had hoped to get this script functioning. Perhaps my thinking on the subject is not accurate since I'm a DBA and new to working with the automated tape library functionality. I welcome input. Thanks.
